Teen Therapy (Ages 13+)
What Is Teen Therapy?
Adolescence is a time of rapid change emotionally, socially, and academically. Teens face growing independence, shifting family relationships, and increasing pressure from school, peers, and the future.
At Botaitis Therapy Group, we offer therapy for teens ages 13 and older to help them manage stress, build self-awareness, and develop healthy coping skills. Therapy provides a supportive space to explore identity, values, and emotions while learning tools for confidence and balance.
How Do Teen Concerns Differ from Adult Concerns?
Teens: Often experience emotions more intensely and may struggle to express them. Common challenges include academic stress, social pressure, identity exploration, self-esteem, anxiety, and family conflict. Teens are learning to regulate emotions and make sense of their experiences while forming a sense of self.
Adults: Tend to seek therapy for ongoing patterns or life transitions. Teens, by contrast, are still developing those patterns. Therapy focuses on emotional awareness, communication skills, and decision-making strategies that support lifelong resilience.
How Does BTG Approach Teen Therapy?
Collaborative and Supportive: Our therapists provide a safe, nonjudgmental environment where teens can speak openly without fear of criticism or misunderstanding.
Skill-Building and Self-Discovery: We integrate approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and strengths-based methods to help teens manage anxiety, improve focus, and express themselves effectively.
Family Collaboration: When appropriate, we involve parents or caregivers to strengthen communication and understanding at home while respecting the teen’s privacy and independence.
Holistic Focus: BTG therapists address the emotional, social, and academic aspects of teen life, helping clients build confidence, manage pressure, and improve relationships.
